Krill Privacy Policy
KRILL – TERMS OF SERVICE
Effective Date: 11/10/2025
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Krill software, associated applications, services, documentation, and websites (collectively, the “Service”). By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. License
Krill is provided to you under a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Service for personal or organizational purposes. You may not sell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service unless explicitly permitted.
2. Ownership
Krill, including all related intellectual property rights, is owned by Benjamin Sautner and Sautner Studio / the Krill project maintainers. These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Service.
3. User Responsibility
Krill enables the control of real-world hardware, including but not limited to:
GPIO pins
Relays
Sensors
Actuators
Electromechanical and environmental systems
You are solely responsible for ensuring your hardware, wiring, environment, and use of Krill are safe, compliant, and appropriate for your purposes. This includes (but is not limited to):
Electrical safety
Mechanical safety
Avoiding damage to property
Avoiding harm to people or animals
Krill does not provide safety systems and must not be used in life-critical or emergency systems.
4. No Warranty
The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. This includes, without limitation, no warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, reliability, accuracy, or continuous availability.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
The Krill maintainers and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages.
This specifically includes damages resulting from hardware damage, electrical damage, data loss, operational failure, personal injury, or property damage.
You use Krill entirely at your own risk. If you are not willing to accept this risk, do not use the Service.
6. User-Generated Content
Data and configurations you create are owned by you. You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to any content you upload or share.
7. Optional Data Sharing
Krill may offer the option to share anonymous performance and diagnostic data to improve the software. This is disabled by default and controlled by the user. See Privacy Policy for details.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. The maintainers may suspend or discontinue the Service in whole or in part at any time.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Krill constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
