Use Case: Hot Tub Controller with Krill Desktop
I control my hot tub using a Raspberry Pi running Krill Server. The Krill Desktop application provides an intuitive interface to monitor and adjust the temperature, set timers, and manage maintenance schedules for my hot tub.
Setup
- Install Krill Server: I installed Krill Server on my Raspberry Pi, which is connected to the hot tub’s control system.
- Atlas Scientific PH, Conductivity and Temperature Sensors work out of the box with krill server, just plug them into a usb port and Krill will start recording their data.
- Heater control and Elecicity Cost - using web hooks I download the current electricity cost from my utility provider and use that to optimize when to heat the hot tub.
- Freeze Alarm - I have set up a freeze alarm that notifies me if the temperature drops below a certain threshold, preventing potential damage to the hot tub during cold weather.
